Iberia bonus avios offer is running from 12th till 25th of September 2017

Today I got an email from Iberia informing about their avios sale.

Details of this deal:

– The bonus ranges from 10% to 35% – the more you buy, the bigger the bonus.

If you buy between 2.000 and 15.000 avios (54 EUR – 293 EUR respectively) you will get + 10% bonus (i.e. 200 – 1500 avios) = 2.200 – 16.500 avios.

If you buy between 20.000 and 24.000 avios (385 EUR – 459 EUR respectively) you will get + 20% bonus (4.000 – 4.800 avios) = 24.000 – 28.800 avios.

If you buy between 35.000 and 80.000 avios (665 EUR – 1,476 EUR respectively) you will get + 30% bonus (10.500 – 24.000 avios) = 45.500 – 104.000 avios.

If you buy between 85.000 and 100.000 avios (1,564 EUR – 1,800 EUR respectively) you will get + 35% bonus (25.500 – 35.000 avios) = 110.500 – 135.000 avios.

Conclusion:

I have to say, this sale is not very exciting and I personally not planning to buy any avios. We all remember recent Groupon ES sale with up to 40% off and other avios offers which are still running.
I personally wonder if we are going to see legendary 50% avios sale with IberiaCards this autumn.
In any case, you have until 25th of September to decide if you want to buy avios or not.

The interesting this is that Iberia reset the clock for annual limits when purchasing avios. Normally one could buy up to 100.000 avios per calendar year. Now the clocks are re-set, so you can buy up to 100.000 avios again until the end of the year. Don’t forget, that you can also buy avios via BA, and they have their own, independent annual limit.

Don’t forget, that you can maximize your avios purchase if you use any reward card (for example, IberiaSendo, Amex IberiaPlus, Amex MeliaMas, etc).
