Seems like Spanish Amex is improving: new bonus transfer options and new redemption partner.

20% bonus on MR transfers to IB+ and BAEC

Spanish American Express is holding its regular points transfer bonus. As before it’s 20% bonus on a transfer of points. What’s different this time is that you can transfer your MR points to Iberia Plus AND British Airways Executive Club (see that banner ‘Oferta especial’? That means 20% more!). Previously it was only transfers to Iberia Plus which were getting the bonus.

A regular exchange rate is 1:1. So if you are transferring 500 MR points, you will get 500 + 100 = 600 avios.

It’s a good way to boost your avios balance before the end of the year. You can stretch your avios balance even further if you take advantage of the recent Iberia promotion: 25% off avios redemptions.

You can transfer your MR points to IberiaPlus or BAEC online or can always call Amex and their nice agents will be happy to do it for you.

AirEuropa SUMA is joining Amex Membership Rewards Club as a new redemption

Another good news from Amex ES is a new redemption partner: now you can transfer your MR points into AirEuropa’s loyalty program called SUMA. Redemption rate is 1:1.

It’s great to see that Amex ES is covering more and more airlines. This means more flexibility for the cardholders when choosing how to spend their points and more security in case of a devaluation of one particular loyalty program.
