Hotel loyalty program Melia Rewards extended its points sale: till the end of the year one can buy 1,000 points for 5 EUR, instead of normal price of 8 EUR. That’s a whole 37.5% off!
Melia Rewards points can be earned and burned on stays at Melia, Grand Melia, ME, Paradisus, INNSIDE, TRYP and Sol hotels.
How to buy
To buy points you need to log into your Melia Rewards account and follow Buy Points link. Minimum purchase is 1,000 and maximum you can buy per year is 100,000 (which cost 500 EUR exactly).
It’s important to note that these points doesn’t count towards Melia satus.
One can use these points to book hotel stays fully with points or part points and part cash.
How to spend
When it comes to burning points Melia Rewards has some sweet spots. Cheapest night at 3-star Sol starts with 11,000 points.
But add 6,000 more and you can get a night at newly opened stylish 4-star INNSIDE New York NoMad in Big Apple’s Chelsea. One night at Innside hotel starts from 17,000 which converts to 82 euros!
A random date in March 2017 shows a 202.02 EUR cash rate or 17.385 points! That’s more than 50% off! Or you can choose points+cash option and use just 2,000 points and pay the rest (184.61 EUR in this case) in cash.
Don’t forget that you get free 2,000 Melia Rewards points jut for registering and every year for your birthday you will get a surprise: a choice of either upgrade voucher or 20% off your next stay.
If you want to treat yourself and get away from the hustle and bustle of a big city, you might consider luxurious 5-star Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora in Tenerife. Random night in January cost 247 EUR. Price in points is 36,000 which is 180 EUR, which provides over 25% savings.
Bookings made with points can be cancelled without penalty up to 14 days before arrival. So you can be flexible.
